Invitation for Expression of Interest

Expressions of interest are sought from national qualified Universities/Institutes/Consulting Firms to carry out a “Study on Opportunities for Green and Climate Smart Technologies Employment and Business Development in Bhutan”. The study duration is 3 calendar months and is intended to commence first week of December 2020.

The expected Outputs to be delivered are: (1) a Draft and Final Inception Report including methodology and workplan scheduling; (2) presentation of an Inception Plan to Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (lead agency) and Department of Local Government (on site or through Web-Ex/Zoom conference); (3) Monthly Interim Progress Updates (presentations and short reports); (4) Draft and Final Research Study Reports.

The research study will be managed by DAI Brussels and will contribute to the European Union funded project titled: “Technical Assistance for Renewable Natural Resources and Climate Change Response and Local Governments and Decentralisation-BHUTAN (EU-TACS)”.

Interested Universities/Institutes/Consulting Firms are requested to email their expression of interest to Karpo Dukpa, Bhutan Philanthropy Ventures at karpo@bpvbhutan.com. This should be no more than three pages and include: (1) a brief description of the firm; (2) descriptions of at least two projects completed by the firm in both the sub-fields of Green Business Development (circular economies, recycling, waste management) and Climate Smart Technology Business Promotion (climate change adaptation technologies supply, manufacturing, delivery); (3) knowledge of preparing strategies and designing programmes (especially in the RNR sector and under a decentralised setting) will be important; and (4) details of qualified in-house staff and the proposed Research Study Team. The deadline for EoI submission is 8th October 2020. Shortlisted firms will be notified on 16th October 2020.
